Cynthia developed a passion and commitment to advocate for families with mental health and addiction problems through lived experience in her family. She began studying and practicing rational emotive behaviour therapy in 1985. She has managed the Toronto online and in-person communities, coordinates the Volunteer Mentorship Program and has built the credibility for SMART Recovery in Canada maintaining national partnerships with CAMH, Salvation Army, CMHA and EHN as well as provincial agencies throughout Ontario. Cynthia has been presenting evidence-based programs to hospitals, government agencies and health organizations for over twenty years.
